The Bible reveals that angels are spiritual beings created by God, possessing remarkable power and intelligence. Yet, some of these angels, led by the once-glorious Lucifer (now Satan), tragically rebelled against God. This rebellion, rooted in pride and a desire to usurp God’s authority, marked a decisive turning point that forever altered the spiritual landscape. Unlike humans, who may be tempted into sin from outside influences, these angels willfully chose rebellion with full awareness of God’s righteousness and sovereignty.
The consequences of this angelic rebellion were severe and irreversible. The fallen angels were cast out of God’s presence and condemned to eternal judgment. There is no redemption plan for them, a stark contrast to God’s mercy extended to humanity. 1
There were two groups of fallen angels. The first group was Satan and his angels. They tried to take over God’s throne in heaven. The other group of angels were called “ Watchers “ whose job was to watch and assist early antediluvian humans as needed. They instead lusted after earth woman and took on human bodies and had sex with them. This ungodly union resulted in a half angel/half man called a Nephilim. These were giants that were bullies, evil, cannibals and caused great harm to humans. They, and evil humans caused God to bring about Noah’s flood to wiped them from the earth. 2
Fallen angels, particularly the Watchers in apocryphal texts like the Book of Enoch, taught humanity forbidden knowledge, leading to corruption and sin, including metallurgy and weapon-making (swords, shields), cosmetics and ornamentation, magic, charms, and spells, astrology, astronomy, and divination (omens, sun/moon signs), and herbal medicine (cutting roots). These teachings, which included practical skills like making jewelry and theoretical knowledge like celestial signs, were seen as corrupting humanity by introducing violence and forbidden secrets, ultimately contributing to the need for the Great Flood.3
Which brings us to this: Are fallen angels living among us today?
Opinion: Yes, fallen angels are living among us today, and don’t let anybody tell you otherwise. It’s biblical and I’ve seen them. I don’t care what you call them; fallen angels, demons, unclean spirits, devils, malevolent or benevolent, they are all demons. Some demons are benevolent, but most are malevolent.
The Bible doesn’t say much about demons, but Revelation 12:7–9, 2 Peter 2:4, and Jude 1:6 describe how the angels who followed Lucifer/Satan, were cast out of Heaven and fell to earth. They fell from grace because they sinned against their creator, and when they fell, they lost some of their supernatural powers. They will pay a heavy price for their decision, soon.
I’ve seen angels and many demons. At first, the demons claimed they were ghosts, but later they revealed the truth. The angels, sent from Heaven, only visited me when I was in a life-or-death situation, a time of great need, and only after sincere prayer to my Heavenly Father. Angels visited me once in a dream, and another time when I was incarcerated and wrongly accused of trespassing.
Demons can appear whenever they please, and when summoning spirits, it’s always demons that end up, showing up. They love to pretend they are celebrities, family members, friends, coworkers, even angels. They have everyone on file and may know more about you then you know about yourself, so, their visits may be calculated. Learn to discern the spirits. 1 John 4:1: “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God…” 4
