I was outside trying to relax, as this will be the last time I will be able to truly relax without the interruptions and demands of the family.  I truly love them, but they DEMAND just about as much from me as the spiritual realm does.  It always works that way, the minute my attention is demanded up there, they would demand my attention down here.  Frustrating, and hard, but I have learned to cope with that.

I felt the pull, it’s urgent.  My senses reach out, merge with the Ether, and reach wider.  A eminent battle! Great relaxation is over.

I sat down comfortably; close my eyes and readied to leave, allowing my body energy to go with, as for once I can, leave my body without worrying.  As Always, Elron is right beside my body, protecting it, smiling as I leave.  As I passed I reach out and let my finger glide past his cheek, a gesture of love, between two very old friends.

I blinked into my garden, to find Commander Marshal looking grave.

Me:  “Fill me in, please!”  We walked while he talked.

Marshal: “Rebel Drac allies, Sentarian ships, their numbers 400, 2 Mother ships.  The Dragone are already there with 50 IDSA, and 50 of your ships.  The Sentarians have been requested to leave but they refuse, I am afraid they will not back down.”

Me: “Mmm…. I feel High Commander Somals of the Ark is on my lead ship the Phoenix Shadow.”

Marshal: “Yes he was visiting, the base when the intell was received.  He said he would take command and assist, while I waited for you.”  Marshal looks uncomfortable.

I smiled: “That is fine Marshal, I trained him so I trust his call, as much as I trust yours.”

Marshal looked relieved and I guess he was not too thrilled to take orders from High Commander Somals, Celestial versus IDSA means tension, I would not expect him to, but Somals knew I was resting, and how much I needed that, that is why he offered his help.

We approached the base and I connected with Sonia: “Sonia, please ready to leave.”

“We are ready and awaiting your instructions Captain.” Her answer came as we reached the entrance.

I sat down in my chair and Marshal took the second in commands place.

Me: “Sonia take us to the given coordinated, time jump at warp speed 7. When you reach the coordinates and drop out I want your shields down for 3 seconds.”

Sonia: “Yes Captain.”

Marshal: “Are you going outside?”

Me: “I will blink to Somals first, then I will join the Dragone, they are not very sure what is expected of them.  You can take over Sonia.  I believe we will have some fun, as they will not back down.”

Marshal: “Yes I got that impression too.  They insist on continuing, they have threatened to take out key cities, to gain access to the underground bases of the Drac.”

I sigh: “Well, the Drac did sign a treaty, but they are Drac, agreements never mean anything to them.  This is a direct violation of that treaty.” I laughed heartily “Not that I expected anything less.”

Marshal laughed, “You knew didn’t you?  We sat through a week of negotiations, with you looking really bored.  You already knew we were wasting our time!”

Me: “Sadly yes.”

Marshal frowned: “How do you KNOW these things, I can NEVER understand just how you seem to KNOW! “

I shrugged with a sneaky smile: “I looked DEEP into my crystal ball…”

Marshal frowned “Bullshit! And you know that!”

I really laughed now: “I just know Marshal, you of all people should know that by now.  I just know and do, that is all there is to it.”

Marshal was getting real angry now “Avi! You know very well that is not all…”  He stopped himself and looked uneasy.  He coughed “I’m sorry, I am out of line…”

I smiled gently and laid my hand on his: “It’s OK, Marshal, I do understand your frustration.  It frustrates others as well, even the Almighty get upset when that happen.  Yet, I can’t explain it.”

Marshal laughed “The irony of all this is when you got up to leave that day you looked into the Drac leaders eyes and said: “It seems that I will be hungry soon.”  NOW I understand that!  At that moment I thought it was a rather stupid thing to say.”

I threw back my head and laugh: “Hey, I am not called the insane soul for no reason, my insanity do have some sanity at some times.”

Marshal laughed: “Yes, together with your apocalyptic behaviour.  Just that has saved our asses a few times.”

Sonia: “Captain we are 2 min away”

Marshal took over command and I closed my eyes.  I reached out with my mind and connected with High Commander Somals. “Somals”

I felt the flicker of surprise, then pleasure “Avi, friend. I thought you were supposed to rest?”

Me: “No, you can’t have all the fun, while I am relaxing next to the pool.”

Somals: “I would much rather be next to the pool.”

Me: “Don’t lower your shield, but just grant me access.”

Somals: “Done!”

I opened my eyes, got up and looked at Marshal “Ready?”

Marshal: “Yes, ready.”

Sonia: “We dropped out, shields are down 2 min and counting.”

As the shield went down I blinked onto the Phoenix Shadow, and stood next to High Commander Somals. “Please hail the leader?”

Somals jerked: “Avi, you will kill me one day.”

I stood there hands behind my back, smiling up at him.  “My dear friend, you are not ready to die just yet.”

He just smiled back at me in return.

The screen flicker and a frowning man appeared.

Me: “I am Commander Avinaa.  State your business, captain?” my voice none too gentle.

The Captain: “Ah, The Devil herself!  So this is the slip of a girl everyone is so scared of.”  His tone was sarcastic, and then he threw back his head and laughed.  “How can anyone be scared of a stupid little girl?”

Next to me Somals and the crew were not reacting very well to his words.  Somals blood was boiling; I could already sense his rage.

My expression was emotionless and I felt no anger, as I know that is what he wants: “Captain Sezwar, please state your business?”

I could have reached out and slapped him, the reaction was the same.  He was angry instantly.

Sezwar: “I have not given my name to anyone, How the hell do you know my name?”

Me: “You are known to me. Please state your business.”

Sezwar looked taken aback and realized that he better not show it, Too late.

Sezwar: “I want access to land at the Drac bases!”

Me: “For what reason?”

Sezwar: “It is none of your business?”

Me: “I am very sorry to say, but it is all my business.  Your intentions are to do harm.”

Sezwar looked confused for a moment: “No, we are here for first contact.”

Me: “By who’s orders?”

Sezwar was getting upset: “By my own! If you will not let me pass, I will shoot my way open! Is that clear?”

Me: “Crystal clear.  You were sent by King Daswernus, to assist the Rebel Drac to start a rebellion.  Is that true?”

Sezwar: “How the HELL did you know that?...” then he realized he said that out loud. “No that is not true, we are here for first contact.”

I smiled, and my eye caught Somals face.  I felt he was thinking the same.  I had to tighten my control, not to laugh.

Me: “Please turn your fleet around and leave.  You have no authority here, and I also know that King Daswernus, is a ally of the Dark forces.  Turn back now, and you will be spared, ignore this and deal with the consequences.”

The Captains face, distorted and he broke contact.

Me: “Increase shield strength on all ships.  Somals they are readying their weapons.  I need 2 seconds.”

Somals gave me access to get through the shield and as I exited the ship, turned into Dragone-Somal form, and hovered above the ship in time to see the enemy fire the first shot.

At that moment I linked with all the Captains on our side, we were largely outnumbered. 101 ships and 35 Dragone.  The enemy had 400 ships.  I smiled, “Fire at will! NO mercy!”

I threw up all 9 heads and those mighty wings spread, shadowing 4 battle ships.  Then I gave the battle call, to all there, especially the Dragone.

Inside the ships, everyone involuntarily pressed a hand to their heart chakra.

Somals: “Shit, when she calls like that my soul quickens.  I have forgotten that.”

Swenn the Captain of the Phoenix Shadow: “What is her name in that form Commander?”

Somals: “She is called Sovaliash.  It means the Bringer of Change.”

My mind flickered: “Focus on the fight, leave the talk till later.”

The enemy was engaged.

With powerful strokes of my wings, I rose up and glided over the already fighting Dragone, as I pass their scales started to shine, as I shared strength with them.  “Dragone, unite!” I called again.  Suddenly the unsure Dragone, quicken and their ferocity rose.

My focus shifted to the largest ship and I increased my speed.  On impact the ship shuddered, and I ripped the ship to shreds.  Smaler fighters were trying to wound me but the shield created by my arched wings prevented them from success.

Around me the Ships and Dragone were fighting with determination, thinking of nothing but the safety of those down here, and their crew.

I rose and hit the second largest ship and ripped it to shreds as well.  The battle was raging, as each of our fleet was fighting hard.

The sound of guns blazing, cannons, and the shouts and screams of the dying on the enemy ships mingled with the silence of space.

We focused on nothing but staying alive and the need to keep this world safe.  Have this world not suffered enough at the hands of the Dark forces?

Slowly the sound of battle died down, and I look around assessing the damage to our fleet.  I know I could have done this alone, like so many times before, but it is time that others join, and take up their places.  Together we are stronger.

4 Dragone gave their lives, 7 was gravely wounded.  2 Ships badly damaged, 19 others damaged.

The bodies of the 4 Dragone, was taken into the Phoenix Shadow, with the wounded Dragone.

The ship that was badly damaged was connected to those that was not and will be taken to the Phoenix base for repairs.  We only lost 23 men.

As I landed on the Phoenix Shadow, I arched my 9 necks and wings and sang the song of the souls.  All the souls of those that died rose and returned to me.  Each entered a separate mouth.  Even the souls of the enemy were brought back to me.

As I sang, tears slipped from my eyes, and my heart was heavy.   The crew on all the ships placed their hands on their hearts and bowed their heads in sorrow, many cried with me shamelessly, as death, even to the enemy was a great loss.

All the Dragone, had landed on ships and stood on their hind legs, necks and wings arched, singing the song of victory, a song rarely heard by human ears.  That deep sorrowful haunting sound drove the crew to their knees.

The intensity of the sorrow it bring, stir any soul, even those of Dark forces.

The words:

“Blessed to the fallen ones, the victory done,

They gave their live without regret.

Blessed to the ones that live,

The fallen gave you life.”

It is a song of love, loss, joy and sorrow, and I have never heard a song quite like it in all my travels.

Inside myself I felt the souls move, shift. Desden was doing his job, and cleaning the darkness.  As I sat there my diamond scales shone like a rainbow, brightly, and from my mouths dripped the black oozing Darkness, the Darkness cleansed from those souls.  As the last of it was released from my body, I raised my heads and once more the Dragone sang the song of Victory and I sang with them.

Today the battle was won, not only is those we love safe, but those turned dark, has been cleansed, and returned to the light.  To be born once more, pure of heart.

The shields were down, so I changed back to myself and dropped down into the Phoenix Shadow.

Me: “Somals, where are the wounded?”

Somals: “They are all in the infirmary, together with the Ones that died.”  His eyes were as sad as mine.

Together we walked to the infirmary.  The energy on the ships was hushed and sad.

As the door open I heard the groans of the wounded.  And I went to each in turn, healing them.  As I moved from one to the other I gave orders to the medic’s to let those healed rest.  Their healing is complete, but they need to rest and regain their energy.

As I came to the wounded Dragone, one was missing a wing.  They brought me his wing and I healed it back to the way it was.  For a Dragone to lose a wing is the same as death.

As I passed through the men and healed them, I spoke to them and thank them for their hard work.  Thank them for their sacrifice.

Then I entered the back room there those that died were kept, tears were already rolling from my cheeks.

Somals came to stand next to me and rested his hand on my shoulder: “This is the reason you always fight alone, my friend, to prevent this from happening.”

I swallowed and whispered “Yes...”

Somals rubbed away a tear: “The lives lost here was not in vain, this war has taken many, to keep those we are fighting for safe.  Some days it is a losing battle, and some days we win, but in the end it is as it should be, to repair the balance.”

I looked at those lying at my feet, “I can change this Somals, and it would be easy to do that.”

Somals looked sad: “You know that you can, but you also know that you must not.  It was their time to go.”

Me: “I know dear friend, it was their time, but it does not make my work easier.  Letting them go, to return to me, so that they can be reborn where they need to be.  I always mourn the loss of a life, even if I know they are not really gone.”

Somals wrapped his arms around me, and I cried like I always do.

Tomorrow the battle continue, tomorrow we fight once more.
