How would you know that a used item you would like to purchase is not haunted? Haunted or cursed objects regularly turn up in antique or second- hand stores whether marked as paranormal or not.
So how do you know if that pretty piece of glassware you grabbed for $2.99 at the local thrift store or tag sale is safe to take home?
When you buy second hand items from any source, you must understand that the objects carry the vibrations and energies of their previous owners.. whatever they are.
Here is a paranormal checklist that may help:
- Research the seller – reputation, reviews, and any history of the item particularly if it is doll or antique toy.
- History – pay attention as to whether there are indicators that the item was connected to a specific event particularly negative.
Items that have witnessed or been connected to tragedies are often believed to be haunted.
Older objects are thought to be more susceptible to spiritual attachments.
Items from places known for paranormal activity may be more likely to be haunted.
- While shopping – if you feel off, strange or uneasy around an item that had caught your interest especially if you feel compelled to buy can be warning signs to steer clear.
- If you buy an item despite the above, you may want to bless or cleanse it. If you still feel leery and want to keep it then have it checked out by a paranormal team or clergy. If you are advised to get rid of it then ask the team for advice on the proper way to do so.
- For example, never burn an item with an attachment because you will only release the spirit to roam wherever it wants to go. An item with an attachment must be placed in a bag or box if small enough with blessed salt, holy water and anointed oil with a prayer said over and must be buried off the property or sunk in a body of water.
Haunted” objects are actually just objects that have had a spirit attached to them at some point in time.
Possessed Objects are inanimate objects which somehow come alive and range from things as small as music players to as large as buildings, houses, toys and towns or cities.
A cursed object is an item believed to carry a negative energy or a curse, often associated with misfortune or harm.
According to paranormal sources, items most likely to be haunted or harbor negativity include antique objects, mirrors, Dybbuk Boxes, and items with strong emotional connections like personalized jewelry, photos, or clothing. Be aware that sometimes something as small as a button can have an attachment. Why? Objects that hold sentimental value or are connected to a person’s memory, like a wedding band, a teddy bear, or a photo, are also considered potential haunted items, as they may retain emotional energy
