“Soul group” was a term coined to describe the “group of people that we normally incarnate with.” Michael Newton uses it often in his books, as people were reporting during their deep hypnosis sessions that they had a “group” of “souls” that they “normally incarnated with.”
Michael reported that people were often “surprised” at who they saw in their group, which might include people they considered “enemies” or “difficult” with their path. Many questioned why their parents or siblings were not in their “soul group” - and I’ve heard many discussions about the topic.
I prefer to use “classroom.” If a person goes to a grade school as I did where one group of people stay together for eight years, it’s more apt. They may not have been people you’d have chosen to be with - but you’re with them. And as each year progresses, you see them change and grow as they see us change and grow. There are other “classrooms” in the university (which may or may not include siblings, relatives, etc) and each classroom may have a “theme” that it works on over many lifetimes.
For example in “It’s a Wonderful Afterlife” one person reported that her “soul group” was always choosing the topic of addiction for each lifetime - as if they were mastering how to conquer that kind of energy. One might choose a lifetime with addictions to food, drugs, sex, etc… and they’d learn the lessons from that theme. In the case of her brother, as she revealed in her session, he had died of a drug overdose, something she resented her entire life - until she saw him in her “soul group” and he explained that he wanted to get the full experience of that form of addiction - including the pain and sadness he brought others over his death.
Newton calls these “other groups” or “close by” groups as affiliate groups - but it’s akin to going home from school and being with the family, and doing all the family things, but when one is in class, they may focus on one particular aspect.
The term “twin flame” has been bandied about by many, but from what I can gather from the interviews I’ve done, that’s a misnomer - people assume that “one soul” is “split into two” and they “find each other.” As the research points out, we choose each lifetime to learn new and important lessons - it wouldn’t make any sense to connect with ourselves, as it would not yield any knew knowledge. However there are members of our “class” or “soul group” that we normally incarnate with, there may even be a primary person in that role, and we do seek and find each other the way that quantum entangled particles seem to know where it’s “other” is at all times.
There’s a lot more order than most people care to examine - which is okay as well. If one can allow for a moment that they’ve written the play, are starring in the play, are also in the audience observing the play - that it’s important to be fully engaged while on stage - then it’s understandable why we aren’t aware of this journey in such a fashion. But we apparently need to be aware of it - if not to understand what the shift of consciousness is that’s occuring, but to realize that we choose to come to the planet, and we’re in the midst of destroying that classroom or campground. We may wind up incarnating elsewhere if need be - but it would be a shame to at least try to save this one, if not for our children’s sake, then for our own possible return.
